Art is Maria Reichert’s second career. Her first, a skilled veterinarian, was interrupted when she took time off to raise two children at home. After a few years Maria picked up a paintbrush and began exploring her vision of the world through art. Her dream studio would be in New England in a small shop with a view of the ocean, a worn hardwood floor, James Taylor playing in the background, a constant pot of coffee brewing, and loyal dog companions lying by the front door, but for now she is comfy in her Ohio home-studio.
Maria prefers to focus her artwork on dogs, cats and horses, telling us that she “is fascinated by the bond that connects animals in our lives, just as when I worked each day in my veterinary office.”
