Winery Dogs of the Pacific Northwest

Photographer Mel Hammonds, owner of Fetching Images Photography, visited the wineries of the Pacific Northwest and photographed the canine companions who watch over some of her favorite destinations.

Louis hails from Phelps Creek Vineyards in Hood River, Oregon in the Columbia River Gorge Region. He’s a friendly Newfoundland mix who likes to hang out with sales manager dad, Dave Mrazek, and greet people in the tasting room. We highly recommend the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from this vineyard. There are plenty of outdoor activities and scenic drives nearby, and it is easily accessible from Portland, which is less than 2 hours away. The town of Hood River offers charming shops and restaurants along with a beautiful view of the Columbia River.
